I'm new in computertown.
After many months of floundering around trying to set up my own webpage (which describes the dystopian utopia Planet Las Bike, and includes a short application to live there to be submitted by interested viewers), I have given up for now. Until I employ a more technologically savvy friend to help me with HTML (anyone do trades? I make a mean artichoke dip...), I will be content for now to keep a little diary here instead. I'll still accept applications for residency on Planet Las Bike, though.
I imagine a first diary entery ought to take some sort of introductory and/or expository form. As for the introduction: my name is Boots Potential. I live in Seattle, Washington. I am a sweet and tender hooligan, ride tough on two wheels, and I am very politely and pleasantly engaged in numerous fuckshitup projects. Under the pretense of being interested in studies of popular culture, I listen to Nelly, Destiny's Child, Pink, Usher, Britney, and N*Sync. I may or may not read some sort of fictional pornographic material that may or may not make reference to the aforementioned boy band. I can't stop listening to the Smiths. Not ever. I may try to hide that I sold my soul to the punk rockers and I only half want it back. I read books in closets. I have an unhealthy obsession with scientific imaging. I always say and write way too much.
I am a secretary with a rather lightly-policed internet connection, so I have way too much free computer time on my hands. It's actually embarrassing. I'm always up for reading your thoughts on anything from the scientific visualization of sex cells to Pink's fashion evolution to anticapitalist strategies to disrupt gender binaries, corporate strangleholds, and boring homosexuals.
Um, so yeah... hello.
